When the draft mental health law was first considered at the 23rd session of the Standing Committee of the 11th National People’s Congress held not long ago, some members of the Standing Committee and those attending the meeting believed that the draft should emphasize the prevention of mental illness.
Mental health prevention includes four aspects
Ma Li, member of the National People's Congress’ Committee on Science, Education, and Education, who attended the meeting, said that in China, research in the field of prevention and rehabilitation has just begun, especially in terms of mental health and mental health. Until now, no system has been formed.
Ma Li believes that mental health prevention work should include four aspects: First, zero-level prevention, prevention of the entire nation, and full coverage, that is, through a lot of publicity, let everyone know what mental health includes and how to prevent it; Prevention, prevention of large areas of mental health epidemics to prevent the emergence of large-area disease; Third, secondary prevention, early detection and early treatment of patients with mental illness, to prevent their development into severe patients; Fourth, tertiary prevention, mainly for severe In other words, schizophrenia, depression, mental disorders in children and adolescents, and senile dementia, etc., to curb the patient's condition further, help them reduce the course of return to society.
"I think the current draft is not enough for prevention," said Mali.
"In terms of prevention of mental illness in the community and the family, the draft should have corresponding provisions to clarify." Jin Shuo-jen said that at present, as social competition continues to intensify, various psychological stress factors have increased dramatically, and mental health problems have become increasingly prominent. Children's behavior problems, students' mental health problems, mental disorders of the elderly, abuse of alcohol, narcotic drugs and suicide have all obviously increased. At present, some middle school students, especially those who face the entrance examination and the college entrance examination, have great pressure from schools and families. Many people often misunderstand the anomalies of this group of people as misunderstandings in adolescence. In fact, many people have developed into existence. Mental disorder problem.
To guide the unit's mental health education
"Prevention of mental disorders is very important," said Li Lanning, member of the employer, schools, and prisons all require mental health counseling. This is a necessary measure to prevent mental disorders.
Li Lanning members pointed out that the unit should have a professional team for mental health education and counseling. At present, some primary and secondary schools make the counseling room like a hospital, and the tutors wear white lab coats. As a result, students are nervous when they look at such dress, and psychological problems are even greater. Therefore, in the context of extensive mental health education, a professional institution should be set up to provide business guidance to the mental health education of all units so as to avoid counterproductive.
Li Lingning suggested that in the draft, regulations should be added, and the health department should set up professional organizations to guide the psychological and health education of all units.
Students should be mental health education
The draft stipulates that schools at all levels and at all levels should educate students about mental health knowledge; set up mental health counseling rooms, and provide full-time teachers and counselors for mental health education to provide mental health education to students. In the event of natural disasters, accidental injuries, public safety incidents or other unexpected events that may affect the students’ mental health, the school shall promptly organize mental health professionals to provide psychological assistance to students. Pre-school education institutions should develop mental health education that meets their characteristics for young children. Teachers should learn and understand relevant mental health knowledge, pay attention to students' mental health, and guide and motivate students. Local education administrative departments and schools at all levels should pay attention to teachers’ mental health. Schools and teachers should regularly communicate with students' parents or other guardians about their mental health.
Song Wenxin, deputy to the NPC attending the conference, came from the school and was mainly responsible for student management.
“The draft requires all types of schools at all levels to educate students about mental health knowledge,” says Song Wenxin. “The mental health work that we currently carry out in our school is not so worded, but it is called mental health education, which is more in line with Now that the school is equipped with mental health teachers, it is easier for teachers and students to accept it."
